About
Where creativity finds its space
Besi Studio is a creative studio built for photographers, artists, and makers who take their work seriously.
Our story
Born from a need for space
Besi Studio started as a simple idea: creatives deserve a space that matches their ambition. Not a sterile white box, not a corporate rental — but a studio with character, atmosphere, and the right light.
We built Besi Studio from the ground up, obsessing over every detail — from the quality of the natural light to the texture of the walls. The result is a space that feels like it was made for the work you're trying to make.
Today, Besi Studio is home to a growing community of photographers, filmmakers, designers, and artists. We host workshops, exhibitions, and open studio nights — and we're always looking for the next creative collaboration.
What we stand for
Our values
Craft first
We believe in doing things properly. Every session, every event, every detail — done with care and intention.
Community over competition
The best creative work happens when people share ideas. We build spaces and events that bring people together.
Atmosphere matters
The environment shapes the work. We obsess over light, texture, and mood so you can focus on creating.
Always evolving
We're not interested in standing still. Besi Studio grows with the people who use it.
The team
The people behind the studio
Besi Mwangi
Besi founded the studio after years of shooting in spaces that never quite felt right. She built Besi Studio to be the space she always wished existed.
Lena Hartmann
Lena brings a sharp editorial eye to every project. She leads portrait sessions and workshops, and is the creative force behind many of our exhibitions.
Daan Visser
Daan keeps the studio running and brings his own visual practice to the space. He designs the studio's events programme and manages day-to-day operations.
